Dahn Hak Yoga – CGI Region

Through Healing anything is possible

Moving Along

Here in Bedford Hills things are rolling along.  I’m teaching Dahn Yoga once a week to the students at Ridgefield Alternative High School.  This has been a bit of a challenge as i’ve never taught a large group of people that are not necessarily learning something of their own volition.  I offered the class to the teachers and students and it has become a mandatory attendance for gym credit.

Most of the people are interested but their attention waxes and wanes through the 45 minutes.  These are also the students who abhor authority and will not do anything unless they think its a good idea.  But i do get a lot of thank yous at the end of class and the few who do participate fully really enjoy the benefit.  I’m hoping in the future to be able to offer a more classes per week so these people can really develop a beneficial practice.

Lee Healer-Nim from the Bedford Hills center has also set up a once a week class with the faculty at the Eagle Hill School in Greenwich CT.  Unfortunately she has to go out of town for the next few weeks as her grandmother is passing away soon and Lee HlrNm will be an aid to that end – please send her and her family and grandmother good energy to see them all through the scenario with open minds and healing hearts.  This Wednesday is the first day of classes she scheduled and wished she could be there to teach.  I am happy to take her place and help spread our practice of Dahn Hak Yoga to the surrounding communities.

Also on the horizon i am going to begin teaching full time at the Scarsdale NY Center under the direction of Sun SabuNim, starting in November.  I am really excited about the change and the chance to learn from another Dahn Hak Master.  As of right now i teach on fridays in the Scarsdale center and am well received by the members (which helps boost confidence in the change).

Olga Nim here at Bedford Hills Center is coordinating a used-cell-phone-collection as a fundraiser for the Phoenix Project.  Since returning from the Healer Festival in September she and Amy DooWooNim have been burning with energy to drive YEHA and the Project into action.  We will have bi-monthly meetings for making and meeting visions as well as a weekly Body N Brain class which will be a slightly higher pace then our normal classes and will have some games and maybe some skits.  Also in the P. Project front, I have a friend that used to work for a Trader Joe’s and found out that every night they dump all the fresh food and day olds into the dumpster. So i’m working on coordinating through some existing community church groups, from my hometown of Ridgefield CT, to collect the food (before its dumped) and get it to distribution centers/shelters and the like.
